Working Smart
PDR is unique in a number of ways, not least in that it offers a free service in providing a budget cost based on detailed plans or just initial thoughts, which can provide the basis of any decision to progress the project further. This can save potential clients both time and money, for they need no longer be put off by the potential cost and time taken to find out how much the idea will actually set them back.
PDR believes that there are many ways to solve a problem. The most important one is the idea of ‘working smart’, which allows everyone within the team to perform with passion. For everyone at PDR is addicted to creating, constructing and figuring out how to make it better. They obsess over craftsmanship. They hunger to learn more about the process. They probably do not have what most people would consider to be typical ‘water cooler' conversations.
‘Working smart’ is how a Yorkshire-based company turned a new approach to commercial construction into a strategy that has revolutionised the industry.
Listening to Clients
Much of the company’s work is derived through repeat business and recommendation, with PDR believing in long-term relationships with its clients, which ultimately brings added value in addition to excellent service, reliability, competitive pricing and timely completion of projects. Moreover, the company remains dedicated to exceeding its clients’ expectations and aims to achieve this by continuously improving the quality, performance and care of all its services. In fact, this is not 'construction' as you once knew it. It is a fresh approach to the building sciences of the past and an eager grasp of opportunities of the future, where both PDR and its clients can enjoy an environment of success!
It is an approach that revolves around listening to its clients too; then offering a suitable solution based on a flexible attitude. Of course, in order to do this, PDR has had to invest in people. At PDR, they have assembled a handpicked team of specialists motivated by the attitude of success. Every member of the team understands that their success depends upon the success of their clients. Each one is a contributor; PDR does not carry excess baggage. That is why it can be a more effective partner than an ordinary contractor in clients’ expansion plans. In fact, the company is characterised by its people…honest, hardworking, professional, energetic. Working together, PDR employees, through their dedication and integrity, have enhanced the company’s reputation for superior workmanship and performance.
Such is PDR’s reputation for quality, that over the last two or three very difficult months in economic terms, it has defied the downturn chronicled in the construction industry, picking up several prestigious projects along the way (£28 million worth of contracts in the residential sector alone - £10m 116 Apartments, Trafford Press, Manchester for Highmore Homes, £7m Woolston Mill Conversion to 106 Apartments, Bradford for North Park (Bradford) Ltd, £4m Olympic House Office Conversion to 45 Apartments Glasgow for Ropetune Ltd £4m Residential & Commercial Development Division Street, Sheffield for Trafalgar Court Northern Ltd and £3m Residential Development Wakefield for Emerald Properties) Therefore, whilst many of its competitors are scaling down, PDR is talking about potential expansion by opening a southern office, as well as targeting public sector jobs and bringing in a number of new key staff.
Passionately Committed
PDR’s emphasis on attention to detail, on time scheduling and cost effectiveness gives the company a competitive edge over other contractors, with its success being the direct result of knowing what its clients' needs are and efficiently responding to those needs. It is passionately committed to providing quality construction and strives to deliver outstanding service. From architect to owner, PDR promote a ‘team’ effort, ensuring a successfully built project on time and within budget.
