Trump Providing the New International Links for Aberdeenshire
Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, has been working towards the creation of two 18-hole championship courses set amidst soaring dunes on Scotland’s northeast coast, complemented by a full array of resort amenities.
Because the site on the Menie estate is a site of major environmental and scientific importance, everything that is planned for the site has to be evaluated against the most stringent requirements. However, this development is not being done in isolation for Scottish Enterprise is funding a new campaign to capitalise upon this £1 billion investment, which it sees as an outstanding opportunity to drive golf-based tourism forward over the next five years – five years in which St Andrews (2010) and Muirfield (2012) will host the Open Championship, Royal Aberdeen the Walker Cup (2011) and Gleneagles the Ryder Cup (2014). With Mr. Trump’s plans for two golf courses, a 450-bedroom hotel, 950 holiday homes and 500 houses, a state-of-the-art golf academy and a turf grass research centre on the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire, experts are predicting a golden era for golf tourism in Scotland.
