F. Ball and Co. Ltd. has completed the construction of its new 30,000ft2 factory, extending the company’s manufacturing capabilities at its Cheddleton site. Representing a £7million investment, the new facilities will enhance F. Ball’s production capacity to meet the increased demand for its high performance Stopgap subfloor preparation products.
Manufacturing a range of Stopgap floor smoothing underlayments, as well as providing additional warehousing space, the new factory will ensure that F. Ball can continue to offer exceptional levels of customer service and reinforces its next day product delivery policy to anywhere in the UK mainland. Moreover, fully equipped Quality Control laboratories will enable F. Ball to maintain its high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Designed and constructed using the latest technology, the new facility features advanced palletising equipment and fully automated packing machines, increasing the throughput rate to over 40 tonnes per hour. Aiming to minimise the environmental impact of the building, F. Ball has incorporated the latest energy saving measures. Furthermore, the building has been insulated in line with current SBEM energy efficiency standards, and comprehensive measures have been taken to minimise the potential for noise and dust emissions.
Stephen Tubby, Operations Director at F. Ball, comments: “The construction of the new factory demonstrates a significant investment in the local community by F. Ball. Installing the latest technology and testing equipment at the new plant further highlights F. Ball’s ongoing commitment to manufacturing products of the highest quality.”
