Chris and Sons Hair and Beauty Ltd have invested in a new wholesale warehouse in Enfield, North London.
Working with an architect the Managing Director, Andrew Vassiliou considered the critical issue of floor type and image.
The nature of the product lines meant that the floor must have superior stain resistance and good anti-slip properties. Being in the beauty business it also had to look decorative and be resistant to abrasion from excessive trolley service and footfall.

The substrate was initially prepared by encapsulated shot blast technique cleaning followed by crack treatment reinforcement. A 4mm epoxy mortar base was then applied to provide extra compressive strength. An undercoat was then added onto which vinyl flakes were broadcast. The flakes enhance aesthetics and aid slip resistance. PU top coats completed the installation and gave a gloss finish.

The floor is kept clean with simple sweeping and mopping every other day.
